How stupid! While I think we should be able to DELETE certain comments, or get them deleted such as one the other day who wrote BLAH about a million times. If you allow someone to moderate comments then they will OBVIOUSLY choice to only allow positive "I agree with you" comments to be seen and any and all that oppose their view point will never be seen.
Because I don't care what someone says that is trying to get this passed or in support of it, when push comes to shove, why would you approve any comment that goes against you, that says you are stupid, or that your beliefs are wrong. You wouldn't, NOBODY would!
Xanga allows all points of view, good or bad to be out there and for the most part it shouldn't change. What should change is when they post stupid million times over BLAH comments, or are ATTACKING someone, and not just respectfully or more or less beig respectful about stating their opinion.

Why do people react the way they do?

A few days ago while hanging out with friends we were reading fmylife.com when a post came up about a child being lactose intolerant, http://www.fmylife.com/kids/6351623 and it was implied that she threw up from it. I said that being mildly lactose intolerant I have never thrown up from dairy, nor has chocolate ever made me sick unless I ate lots of it at one time.
One of the people I was with immediately claimed that obviously this child has it much worse than I do.
I don't eat much dairy, I use soy milk, don't care for cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, or most creamy dips and dressings. So I eat yogurt, some ice cream, and cream cheese, as well as cheese on nachos, tacos and pizza, I never add any cheese to a sandwich or burger of any kind, and sometimes pick it off tacos and pizza and go very light with it on nachos. Being diabetic, I can't eat tons of sugary ice cream and yogurt so I don't get much dairy. But I do have a huge sweet tooth when it comes to chocolate, and being diabetic I find ways around that, so that I can still have a bit of chocolate when I want it. So wanting to know more I have looked around online at medical sites, like webmd and the mayo clinic, nowhere on any of these medical sites does it list CHOCOLATE as a normal food that affects lactose intolerance and vomiting is not a symptom either, probably because that would be your stomach and lactose intolerance comes from you intestines. (Hope I understood that correctly, may be wrong so don't quote me on it)

This is almost as good as a comment I once read on an ISH site where someone doesn't like MILK chocolate because it tastes to MILKY! (May have been the original poster who first said it) and the at least 3-4 people agreed with her. I'm not a big fan of dark chocolate so I don't eat it much, my chocolate of choice is milk chocolate. Although it is obviously made with milk, it doesn't taste like milk, I HATE milk, never drink it, and only use SOY milk on my cereal. I think milk has a nasty taste.
In all my life I have never heard anyone say that milk chocolate tasted like MILK, except for on that post.

I honestly think it comes from the fact that we live in a society that as sick as it is want to be sick, wants to have whichever aliment, to fit in, to feel included, who knows why society is the way it is with this, but so many WANT to be sick and if not them, then their child, or spouse. Society suffers from the "flavor of the month" popular syndrome.
Everyone suddenly has the HOT new disease, allergic to wheat, my child is autistic, etc... and I have noticed this over the years, which ever BIG disease or disorder is hot, everyone has it, and doctors are confirming that the number of reported cases (people claiming to have it) and the number of actual cases don't match up. That so many people (and I know a few, too many sadly) that think they know more than the doctor, so even when he says no you/your child doesn't have this they still believe that they do, even with medical tests and no symptoms.
As a person with multiple aliments and diseases/disorders I don't understand why you'd want something you don't actually have. I have a food allergy (one that is rare, and I only know of a handful of other people with it), diabetes, migraines, high blood pressure (genetic), acid reflux, mild lactose intolerance that is currently being checked for an IBS as Crohns and Colitis run in my family, and a bad knee, that is along with depression, anxiety and panic attacks. I currently take more medicine than a typical cancer or HIV patient according to my doctor.
And as bad as all that sounds, it isn't bad, I take medicine, and watch what I eat, get exercise and am mostly okay, pretty easy to take care of, but managing it all does take time and patients.

What is a sport?

I love some sports, baseball, soccer, and hockey mostly. I follow football, but not a die hard fan.
Over the last few years poker and I think blackjack have made their way onto channels such as Fox Sports and ESPN. WTF?! Why, those aren't sports!
To me a sport is an activity that requires PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, and chance, somebody wins, and somebody loses, usually but not always a ball or puck is used. Sports to me are things like baseball, football, soccer, basketball, hockey, field hockey, volley ball, softball, etc...
To a loose extent I will say golf is. Cheerleading IS NOT, although cheerleaders, real ones, not those that ONLY cheer at games but the ones that complete are athletes.
In my opinion things like bowling is not a sports, it is a GAME!
I use another website where you can ask and answer questions, and once someone asked what where you most favorite and least favorite sports. Some stupid bitch answered and said that she LOVED ballroom dancing, (and several other NON-SPORTS) and hated football, basketball, hockey, baseball, basically any and all SPORTS!
You may or may not agree with me on some of these, but not all games or competitions are sports. And some there is NO way possible to label them a sport.

Overdoing it with clean?

I am a big one for being clean, I have to be being diabetic. Cuts and wounds, as well as tattoos and piercings take longer to heal for me, and as they take longer I am more prone to infections. I wash my hands after using the bathroom, before and after handling most food, and several other times a day. I carry hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes with me, as well as alcohol wipes with my test kit. I have neosporin and band-aides as well. I would say I am pretty typical with my hand washing and care, especially being diabetic.
I was out at a major sporting event, can't remember if it was baseball or football, and saw a woman wash her hands with soap and water and then use hand sanitizer. Now once your hands are clean they are clean, you can't make them extra clean! And this bathroom had faucets that shut off, so no touching after your hands where clean, automatic paper towels, so no touching with clean hands and NO DOORS, so no touching, and what I think is the funniest part, the hand sanitizer was INSIDE the bathroom, so even if she had had to open a door the sanitizer wouldn't have worked. I know some people get all stupid and paranoid about touching things with clean hands in public because what if someone else didn't wash their hands? That is why I think she went overboard, this bathroom was made with those types in mind, things were automatic and no door so nothing to touch.
I have to be careful with some soaps in bathrooms in public, the soap used at the grocery store I worked in a while back was one that I was allergic to and if I used it, I would start itching and my hands would get a rash. I could never "wash" my hands in the bathrooms at work. I had to use hand sanitizer only. I can now tell which soaps are that one, which places use it, so I can use my sanitizer instead.

My thoughts on Surviving Thanksgiving with Acid Reflux

Surviving Thanksgiving with Acid Reflux | healthkicker

I came across the above article on Healthkicker, and because I have acid reflux, was diagnosed when I was 15, I thought maybe I'd learn something I didn't know. I am a picky eater so many things listed I wouldn't know about whether they affect acid reflux or not. And for me, I have it so bad that it really doesn't matter what I eat I get it anyway unless I take my medicine. When I take that I can pretty much eat whatever I want and have little or no problem, may have to take a few rolaids or drink a small glass of milk (eww!) to settle my stomach and I'm good. A few times a year I have a few very serious bouts of it, where nothing helps and I have the grossest taste in my mouth, and the only way to understand is to have it or be around someone who does when they have it (I'm sorry) and really bad burps.

So the is article ends with this line: Do you suffer from acid reflux? Are there certain foods you have to avoid during the holidays because of disease or allergies?

Now as someone who suffers from this I personally feel that by asking about OTHER DISEASES AND ALLERGIES it downplays acid reflux and makes it less of a disease then it is. I have other problems that cause me to have issue with food, but I don't feel they should be clumped together.
I mentions this on the blog, and the original writer let me know that she didn't add it, the editors of HEALTHKICKER did.
Why did anything else, any other disease need to be brought up and try to be introduced?

Snooping! Never OKAY, so stop!

Snooping! To me it's just plan wrong and there really isn't anyway to justify looking through someone else's private things including their phone/text messages, myspace/facebook messages. I do say that if you have strong suspicions that your partner is cheating on you, then you have the right to look for CLUES and more INFO as to whether or not they are cheating in an attempt to prevent getting PHYSICALLY hurt by them possibly getting an STD and bringing it home to you. But full on snooping, no matter the reason is not excusable, no matter what.
People who snoop are USUALLY, just immature, jealous, insecure little sneaks who can't handle that they don't know everything about their partner, want to be the ONLY person they have in their live and freak out if they talk to someone else or what ONE night away automatically means cheating in their insecure little heads.
My partner and I have all the passwords to any and all accounts, except this one. I have told him that if he wants to know what is on it, come to me and I will show him, don't just look for it. He knows this is my ONE private thing, I tell him about things I write about on here and leave it signed in when I leave and he is here alone. I'm not hiding anything, but we don't read each others messages. His closest friend right now is a girl he works with, I know he talks to her about our problems, yet I would still NEVER pick up his phone and read a text from her, even though I know that most of the time it is a JOKE text and nothing more or her bitching about her husband and kids or the place they work. We log in to each others accounts and see messages from other people and NEVER click on them, pick up phones with messages on them and don't read them. We are able to, because we trust each other, but the message may be private, not private between me and him, but from the sender to us. Their is still a thing called PRIVACY!
I would love to know what goes through someones head when they can sit there and say that snooping is okay. So help me, if you or someone you know is a snoop, tell me how you justify it.

I'm pretty, I'm thin, I'm smart...

I come across blogs and questions on various sites where you have some girl listing all these "qualities" about herself, and then ask why don't men like her or why doesn't she have any friends. Are you really that stupid? Nobody cares in the end how pretty, thin, smart, attractive, sexy, witty, fun, outgoing, you THINK you are, if you are posting all this stuff about yourself and whining online about it, I would guess either you aren't as great as you think you are or your attitude sucks so badly that nobody cares to be around you.
There is a difference between being confident and cocky.

Gone too far

When DJ AM died, I didn't care , the man survived a plan crash and then a year later OD'ed, how fucking stupid can you get? I know he was an addict, I am in recovery and have been for years. I started using when I was 13, first pills, pot and alcohol, then harder drugs and MORE drinking, by the time I was 16 I couldn't get up without some kind of Upper, couldn't sleep without some kind of downer unless I crashed or passed out. I missed so much school in one semester that they kicked me out! My parents got me back in, and I was on academic probation for the rest of the year.
I didn't go to college right out of high school because I didn't know HOW I would get my drugs and that was the most important thing in my life!
So I fully know what it's like to be an addict, you are never fully recovered because ANYTHING can set you back and cause you to use again. I wish I could make stupid people who throw around the words "addict" and "addiction" actually understand what it is like and NOT EVERYTHING is an addiction. I have heard lately how "anorexics and bulimics are addicted to FOOD, lol. One, I don't know that you can actually call either of those addicts but they surely aren't addicted to FOOD, especially anorexics, if you want to classify them as anything it would be addicted to CONTROL. Overeaters are addicted to FOOD.
Addicts have NO CONTROL over their addiction, many want to stop, it's very painful, both physically and mentally to be an addict, when you want to get sober.
And any treatment centers I was every involved with, you first worked with your own addiction one on one with councilors and group with people with the same or similar addictions, then a mix of them. I have worked with alcoholics, drug addicts, gamblers, and one sex addict, even overeaters, but never anorexics or bulimics they had their own "world" because they aren't addicts, at least not in the same sense.
So DJ AM died, supposedly because he felt guilty that he lived when others died, and that caused his addiction to be worse. But before his death he worked with MTV to help get other addicts clean, I saw the promo for it today, and finally felt empathy for him. I still think he was stupid, but I understand the life of an addict, and I saw how he TRIED to help others even if he couldn't help himself.
The show started airing on Oct. 12, I just hope, in light of his death now maybe he can truly reach those addicts.
Here is the link to a promo for the show: http://bit.ly/16ixJC

Is there a link between unhealthy food choice and economy level?

For several years I was a checker in a grocery store, so I saw some very interesting purchases. I also noticed trends with people and economy level.
All economy levels buy various levels of junk food and health food. That's pretty much a given.

The store I worked in was a mid to high end store, where we bagged the groceries for the customers. During the time I worked there one very obvious trend and everyone noticed it and we would talk about. Those getting public assistance had the worst food buying habits. The people on food stamps would buy tons of junk food, ice cream, cookies, cakes, chips, and almost none or very little fresh produce, fresh meats or other health foods. And when they did, and the bill went over what they had in food stamps the foods that went back where the produce and meats, only giving up the candy and chips WHEN they had to.
I'm not saying that those that weren't getting aide bought health food, and didn't but junk food or that those on aide ALL shopped this way, but it was a trend.
And I understand that sometimes it's easier and cheaper to buy ready made food and junk over fresh meat and produce that you have to fix yourself, but why do they eat so much junk food?
So I wonder is there a link between economic level and the way we eat? Should the government get involved and make sure those getting assistance are eating better foods?

Fakers and posers:get your own style!

I don't care what style you are, dress how you want, just be real. The outside, what you present to the world needs to match your personality, the things you like and don't like. All of it should basically match.
What I hate are people who don't like something until it is popular, then they are all over it. Those that put down and mock something and then a few months later deem it "cool" enough for them. Yet those some fake people then claim that the original people who liked it first copied them, have no style, etc...
And you can tell when something is popular, especially with girls. Piercings started out as a PUNK and METAL thing, when I started getting piercings girls I knew put them down, and called me a freak, a loser for having them. Then they deemed NAVAL rings cool, lol so all the little fake poser preps in my high school all had their naval pierced, that one was okay, all others were still stupid in their eyes. Then it moved on over the years as to what they deemed to be popular and acceptable to have pierced. Walk into any major event, concert or sporting event, or your local mall. And look at you typical female aged about 25-30 and under, and the closer to 18-21 the more you will see it. Girls that have TWO very common piercings, a nose piercing and a lip piercing, usually a little diamond stud. Now if you watch people the way I do, and for my job I have to be able read a person, read body language, so I have gotten very good at it. One thing I have noticed about about 50% or so of these girls, they aren't the normal type to get piercings or tattoos. I would bet that a few months ago these girls where mocking others for those very same piercings, and now suddenly they are cool enough to have, and in a few months they will take them out and move on the next "fad" piercing place, you see, last year it was the septum, and before that it was lip with a HOOP, and before that was eyebrow, before that tongue.
See these girls only keep the piercings as long as it's "cool" to have them. lol, they claim to have gotten sick or it or bored. Then why is it that you have had exactly ALL the same "fad" piercings at exactly thr right time!?
They do it with clothes, tattoos, music, with everything. Maybe it is because I have always been the "unique" one, always a bit weird, but never an outcast or geek/nerd, that seeing people "steal" styles that aren't them, that don't suit them, that they should just leave alone bothers me.
I see these people as thieves, it wasn't YOUR style, it belonged to whichever group first, so leave it alone. Maybe it's because not only to they steal someone else's style, they then claim it as their own, and call others followers, maybe it's because the mocked it first, and then it became good enough. Maybe I just can't stand people who aren't REAL, fakers, posers, wanna-bes.
And what these posers don't get, we see through them and know they are so fake it's not funny.
Why be that way, why not be your self and STICK to your own style and stop stealing from other groups. Punks have a look, metal heads have a look, preps have a look, etc... Your outside should match your inside and we can tell when it doesn't.
